About Heinz Hublitz

Heinz Hublitz is an enthusiastic nature lover and mountain friend. He came to mineral collecting by chance: on walks in the Bavarian Alps he discovered a cleft with calcite crystals and was fascinated by the different calcite formations. His interest in the world of minerals had been awakened. He taught himself a great deal from specialist books. After joining the VFMG, Stuttgart district group, he took part in excursions and learned to use a microscope and preparation tools.

Since 1999 Heinz has been one of the very active members of the Münchener Mineralienfreunde, in particular of the micromounter group. He regularly attends the group evenings, takes part in collecting excursions and also collects on his own travels, for example in Canada or in the Binntal. He works intensively on building up the Lithothek, and he is wholeheartedly involved in preparing and staffing the group’s stand at the mineral show.

Heinz collects minerals from all over the world; his focus is the mineral class of the halides.
