What we are building
Three undertakings currently underpin the work of the Lithothek: the physical collection (our Lithothek), its digital counterpart and our virtual museum. These projects grow every day and fulfil our non-profit purpose. In time, they will be developed and expanded further through cooperation with schools, museums, universities and mineral societies.
Our project, founded in 2001, aims to add at least one specimen of every known mineral from every locality to the collection. Even though we know this is a utopian undertaking, we do not let the scale of the idea stop us from taking pleasure every day in expanding the Lithothek.

The digital presentation of extraordinary specimens or selected topics makes it easier for those interested to familiarise themselves step by step with mineralogy and its related fields.
