I have been collecting minerals from all over the world since I was ten years old. I attach particular importance to specimens that are aesthetic but still affordable. Most of the collection consists of small and hand specimens.
By chance, I became aware of the Mineralienatlas in the spring of 2005, and I have worked on this project ever since, to extend my knowledge and to contribute it here.
Obituary
Andreas Brand died in November 2022. For many years he was a mainstay of the Mineralienatlas; as a moderator he was a highly valued member of the team. We miss him as a person and as a friend. His family has donated his collection; it is now part of the Lithothek. Heartfelt thanks – and our deepest condolences.
