The Lithothek now has its own dedicated governing body: Lithothek gGmbH has been established. The tax authorities have granted it charitable status. Its objective is to promote public education in the fields of mineralogy, the study of mineral deposits, geology, paleontology, and mining.
For us, this means that the collection is now permanently secured within a framework dedicated exclusively to charitable purposes. It is to be preserved, researched, and made accessible to everyone—on a long-term basis.
